August 11, 2018 @ 10:00 AM, join the PARC Foundation of Thurston County for a fun and informational race that celebrates the some of the amazing things about our area.
Originally the Capitol to Bay Relay, this event had to be re-imagined due to participation and event costs. We look forward to starting fresh and adding something new to the event each year, continuing to embrace the amazing area we live in!
This 3.8 Mile Run, Walk, Skip, Dance, Stroll is meant for people of all ages. It is intended to be both a lot of fun and provide an opportunity to learn more about the area in which we live.
The race will begin in front of the Capitol steps and after crossing bridges, climbing up steps, through gardens, around artwork, passed old and new buildings, around the fountain and down around Capitol lake, it will return to the front of the Capitol steps for the finish.
There will be placards throughout the race providing information about the landmarks being passed.
Prizes! At the end of the race, for those who choose to participate, there will be a quiz and prizes for everyone who gets the answers correct! Additionally, there will be age group awards for those who choose to run to win the race!
The Capitol to Bay Relay is put on by and for the benefit of the PARC Foundation of Thurston County, which is dedicated to preserving the vital green spaces of our natural surroundings, expanding and supporting works of art and artists in our community, ensuring all citizens have access to recreational opportunities, and celebrating cultural activity in Thurston County.
